Jason Stephen is a native of Laramie, Wyo., and holds a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Wyoming. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Wyoming and Colorado. In 2001, Jason co-founded Gateway Construction, LLC, with his father, Jim Stephen, initially operating as a small general contracting firm. Under his leadership, the company has evolved into a full-service residential and commercial construction organization.
Gateway Construction completed its first single-family custom home in Cheyenne’s Western Hills subdivision in 2004. Since that time, the company has experienced sustained growth and is now recognized as one of the region’s leading home builders. Gateway employs more than 30 office and field personnel and has completed in excess of 600 projects throughout Cheyenne, Laramie, Casper and northern Colorado.
Jason also leads a network of affiliated companies, including Bedrock Development, Spring Creek Development and Elevation Development, LLC, which are utilized for land acquisition, entitlement and project execution. These entities support large-scale residential, commercial and mixed-use projects while demonstrating a vertically integrated approach to real estate and construction.
Jason is actively involved in the design and construction of Gateway’s projects and is known for his disciplined approach to quality control and project execution. He maintains high standards across all phases of construction and is committed to continuous improvement in both processes and outcomes. He regularly conducts site and home walkthroughs to ensure that all work meets Gateway’s standards prior to project completion and client turnover.
Despite leading a multi-million-dollar enterprise, Jason remains accessible and engaged with both his team and clients. He fosters a culture of accountability, professionalism and responsiveness within the organization. Outside of his professional responsibilities, he enjoys backpacking, fishing, hiking, scuba diving and traveling.
